Himachal has two faces. One is green and familiar: Shimla’s Ridge, Kufri, the Beas at Manali, the cricket ground at Dharamshala, the pines of Dalhousie. The other is bare, high and astonishing — the Spiti Valley, where Key Monastery sits above a brown river and Komic claims the title of highest village in the world.
Both are here. The Spiti circuits run Chandigarh to Chandigarh through Narkanda, Sangla, Chitkul, Nako, Tabo, Kaza and Kalpa, with longer versions adding Chandratal and a return over the Atal Tunnel to Manali.
