Spiti Valley — 8 Nights with Tabo & Chandratal

A night at Tabo, where the monastery has stood since 996 AD
Rated 4.7 out of 5

About This Tour

Nine days, and a night at Tabo — which is the point of this version. The monastery there was founded in 996 AD, has been in continuous use ever since, and holds mud-walled halls of murals that have earned it the name the Ajanta of the Himalaya.

Staying the night rather than passing through means you can see it in the early light with nobody else there. The rest runs as our seven-night circuit: Kinnaur in, two nights at Kaza, Chandratal, and out through the Atal Tunnel.
