About This Tour

Coorg and Wayanad share a border and a climate, and together they form the greenest week you can spend in southern India. Coffee on one side, spice and prehistoric caves on the other, with the Western Ghats running through the middle of both.

All South India departures run in an air-conditioned private vehicle sized to your group, across four accommodation categories. Arrival is at Bangalore airport and departure from Calicut.

Itinerary

Day by day, here is exactly how Magical South unfolds — where you travel, what you see and where you spend each night. 6 nights, 7 days, Bangalore (1N) → Mysore (1N) → Coorg (2N) → Wayanad (2N).

  • Day 1, Bangalore

    The Garden City of India and the capital of Karnataka is one of the prettiest and cleanest cities in the country, well known for its rapidly growing software industry. Visit Cubbon Park and the Government Museum, Tipu Sultan's Palace, the Fort, the Bull Temple and the Venkatappa Art Gallery as time permits. Overnight at the hotel. Please note that the distances mentioned are measured from the city centre.

  • Day 2, Mysore

    Mysore, the royal city of Karnataka, has a great number of royal buildings, gardens, temples, museums and modern amusement parks. Visit the Chamarajendra Art Gallery, Mysore Zoo, the Maharaja's Palace and Brindavan Gardens. Overnight at the hotel. Please note that Mysore Zoo remains closed on Tuesdays.

  • Day 3, Coorg

    Coorg, the Scotland of India, is a hill station of coffee estates, spice plantations and misty valleys. Visit Abbey Falls, Raja's Seat, the Namdroling Monastery at Bylakuppe and the Dubare elephant camp as time permits. Overnight at the hotel.

  • Day 4, Coorg sightseeing

    A further day among the coffee estates, waterfalls and monasteries of Coorg. Overnight at the hotel.

  • Day 5, Wayanad

    Wayanad is a green district of the Western Ghats, known for its spice plantations, waterfalls and prehistoric caves. Visit the Edakkal Caves, Pookode Lake, Banasura Sagar Dam and the Soochipara or Meenmutty waterfalls as time permits. Overnight at the hotel.

  • Day 6, Wayanad sightseeing

    A second day in Wayanad, covering the remaining caves, lakes and waterfalls. Overnight at the hotel.

  • Day 7, Departure from Calicut

    After breakfast, transfer to Calicut airport for your onward journey.
