Srinagar’s Mughal gardens step down to the edge of the Dal, Gulmarg’s meadow runs green to the foot of the snow line, Pahalgam sits where the Lidder comes down cold and fast out of the pines, and Sonmarg is exactly what its name promises — a meadow of gold.
