About This Tour

Ooty and Kodaikanal are often compared and rarely visited together, which is a pity, because they are quite different places. Ooty is busier, greener and more cultivated. Kodaikanal — the gift of the forest — is quieter, wilder, and built around a star-shaped lake in the Palani hills.

All South India departures run in an air-conditioned private vehicle sized to your group, across four accommodation categories. Arrival is at Bangalore airport, with departure from either Madurai or Coimbatore.

  • Day 1, Bangalore

The Garden City of India and the capital of Karnataka is one of the prettiest and cleanest cities in the country, well known for its rapidly growing software industry. Visit Cubbon Park and the Government Museum, Tipu Sultan's Palace, the Fort, the Bull Temple and the Venkatappa Art Gallery as time permits. Overnight at the hotel. Please note that the distances mentioned are measured from the city centre.

  • Day 2, Mysore

Mysore, the royal city of Karnataka, has a great number of royal buildings, gardens, temples, museums and modern amusement parks. Visit the Chamarajendra Art Gallery, Mysore Zoo, the Maharaja's Palace and Brindavan Gardens. Overnight at the hotel. Please note that Mysore Zoo remains closed on Tuesdays.

  • Day 3, Ooty

Ooty is a picturesque landscape of deep forest, green meadows, vast tea gardens and tall eucalyptus trees. Visit the Botanical Garden, the tea estates and factories, and enjoy boating on Ooty Lake. Hiking and horse riding are also available here. Overnight at the hotel.

  • Day 4, Ooty sightseeing
