About This Tour

The Dooars is the doorway between the plains of Bengal and the Bhutan hills, and it is one of the most rewarding wildlife belts in eastern India. Elephants cross the road without ceremony, the Murti river runs clear over white stones, and the tea gardens stretch flat and green until the foothills interrupt them.

This five-day route deliberately splits the stay across three very different bases. Two nights at Murti give you the river and the surrounding forest villages. One night at Chilapata puts you beside dense, old-growth jungle. The final night at Jayanti — the ‘Queen of the Dooars’ — sits against the dry riverbed below the Bhutan hills, which at dusk is one of the most striking landscapes in the state. All meals are included throughout.
