The Ayodhya Hills, Turga and Bamni falls, Baranti lake and Garhpanchkot. This guide sets out what Purulia actually offers, what a trip
there costs, when to go, and how we run it — written from the routes we operate
ourselves rather than from a brochure.

Why Purulia is worth your leave
Purulia in the Puja season is one of Bengal’s great open secrets. The Ayodhya Hills turn every shade of red and ochre, the waterfalls run full, and the lake at Baranti sits still enough to hold the whole sky.
What a trip costs
We run 1 itinerary here.
The lowest published rate is ₹ 4,700 per head. Every figure below is
per person and includes accommodation, the stated meal plan, private transport,
all sightseeing in the itinerary, and toll tax, parking and driver allowance.
| Package | Duration | From |
|---|---|---|
| Purulia — Ayodhya, Baghmundi and Garhpanchkot | 2N / 3D | ₹ 4,700 |

A sample of the route
Taking Purulia — Ayodhya, Baghmundi and Garhpanchkot as an example —
Barabhum → Ayodhya Hills → Baghmundi → Baranti → Garhpanchkot → Barabhum, picking up at Barabhum Station and dropping at Barabhum Station:
- Day 1, Barabhum to the Ayodhya Hills — Pick-up from Barabhum station and drive to the Ayodhya Hills. Check in, then head out for the first round of sightseeing across the Baghmundi side — hill viewpoints, the upper dam and the surrounding villages. Evening snacks, dinner and overnight stay.
- Day 2, Waterfalls and the Baranti–Garhpanchkot circuit — A full day covering Turga Falls, Bamni Falls and the forest roads of the Ayodhya plateau, before moving across to the lake at Baranti and the ruins of Garhpanchkot at the foot of Panchet Hill. All meals included.
- Day 3, Return to Barabhum — After breakfast, a final stop or two on the way, lunch, and then the drive back to Barabhum station for your return train.
When to go
The window we recommend is October to March, and during the Pujas.
*Minimum 7 persons travelling together. Standard non-A/C room and non-A/C vehicle.

Planning your dates
Peak windows — the Pujas, December, and the Kashmir tulip season — fill six to
eight weeks ahead, and offbeat homestays have very few rooms between them. If your
dates are fixed, talk to us early. If they are flexible, tell us and we will
suggest the week that gives you the best weather and the best rate.
