Planning a Student Group Tour from Bengal: A Teacher’s Practical Guide

Taking a school or college group away is not a holiday for the person
organising it. This guide is written for that person.

Pick a destination with variety and short drives

The Dooars is our most requested student
destination for one reason: tea garden, river, hill, jungle and the Bhutan border
all sit within a short radius. Students see genuinely different landscapes without
six hours in a bus. Purulia and
Vizag–Araku work the same way.

Settle meals before anything else

Our student departures run on all-meals plans — breakfast on day one through
dinner on the last day. Forty teenagers looking for lunch in an unfamiliar town is
the single biggest thing that derails a group trip.

Transport and headcount

Private throughout, sized to the group, with drivers experienced on hill roads
and used to large parties. Pick-up and drop are fixed points — New Mal Junction,
Barabhum, Visakhapatnam — which makes the register far easier to manage.

Budget honestly

Group rates fall as numbers rise. Tell us your real headcount and we will quote
against it rather than a guess. Rates are per head and hold from quotation to
invoice.

What we need from you

Final numbers, ID for every traveller, any dietary requirements, and one
teacher’s mobile that stays on. Everything else is ours.

What every Sanjhbati Tourism departure includes

Whichever route you choose, the following are part of the published rate and
never appear as a surprise on your final invoice:

  • Accommodation in the hotel or homestay category you selected
  • The stated meal plan — MAP for breakfast and dinner, AP for all meals
  • A private vehicle for the whole itinerary, never shared with strangers
  • Every sightseeing stop written into the day-by-day plan
  • Toll tax, parking charges and driver allowance
  • A 24-hour helpline, plus the direct number of your local representative

Common questions before booking

How many people do you need to run a departure?

It varies — two for Kashmir and the Andamans, four for Shimla–Manali, seven for most North Bengal group rates, eight for the Silk Route. Each package page states it.

What if our group is smaller than the minimum?

We will requote for your actual numbers. A smaller group simply carries a higher per-head cost; it does not stop you travelling.

Do you have an office we can visit?

Yes. Our location is on Google Maps — the link is in the footer and on the Contact page. Please call ahead so someone is free to sit with you.

Planning your dates

Peak windows — the Pujas, December, and the Kashmir tulip season — fill six to
eight weeks ahead, and offbeat homestays have very few rooms between them. If your
dates are fixed, talk to us early. If they are flexible, tell us and we will
suggest the week that gives you the best weather and the best rate.
