There is no bad month in North Bengal, only months that suit different people.
Here is the honest breakdown.

March to May — the safe answer
Clear mornings, rhododendron on the higher ridges, comfortable days. The best
odds of a clean Kanchenjunga view. Also the busiest, so book early.
June to September — the monsoon
Green beyond description, waterfalls at full force, and very few visitors. Our
Kalimpong Offbeat departure runs
July to September at ₹3,999 precisely because this is the quiet season.

October to November — the connoisseur’s window
The monsoon has washed the air clean and the peaks stand out sharply. Puja
season means demand, so rooms go early.
December to February — cold and clear
Sharp, bright mornings and genuine cold at altitude. Orange season in Sittong.
Some higher roads close after snow.

And the Dooars?
A different rule. October to April, when the forest is accessible and wildlife
movement is at its best.

Common questions before booking
What is the difference between MAP and AP meal plans?
MAP covers daily breakfast and dinner. AP covers breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and dinner. Our North Bengal, Dooars, Purulia and Sundarban departures usually run on AP, so you are never hunting for a restaurant after a long day out.
Do you book train or flight tickets?
Air and rail fare sit outside our package rates, but we are always glad to advise on the most convenient trains and flights from your departure city.
Can you customise an itinerary?
Yes, and we do it every week. Tell us your dates, the kind of stay you prefer and roughly what you would like to spend, and we build the route around that.
Planning your dates
Peak windows — the Pujas, December, and the Kashmir tulip season — fill six to
eight weeks ahead, and offbeat homestays have very few rooms between them. If your
dates are fixed, talk to us early. If they are flexible, tell us and we will
suggest the week that gives you the best weather and the best rate.
