About This Tour

This is the Kumaon tour for people who want to get past Nainital. It climbs steadily north — Mukteshwar, Binsar, Chaukori — and reaches Munsiyari at two and a quarter thousand metres, where the five peaks of the Panchachuli stand in a line across the skyline.

Two nights there, then down through Bageshwar and Baijnath to Kausani’s tea gardens, Ranikhet, and Kainchi Dham, the ashram of Neem Karoli Baba. Patal Bhuvaneshwar’s cave temple and the Birthi waterfall are on the way. Nainital’s lakes close the tour.

Itinerary

Day by day, here is exactly how Kumaon — Mukteshwar to Munsiyari unfolds — 7 nights and 8 days, starting and ending at Lalkuan.

  • Day 1, Lalkuan – Bhimtal – Naukuchiatal – Mukteshwar

    Our representative will meet you at Lalkuan Railway Station and the journey begins. You will visit Bhimtal Lake, Naukuchiatal, Hanuman Dham and Bhalu Gaad Waterfall. Dinner and overnight stay at Mukteshwar.

  • Day 2, Mukteshwar – Almora – Eco Binsar

    After an unhurried breakfast, the day opens up. On the itinerary today are Mukteshwar Mahadev Temple; Chauli Ki Jali View Point; Ramakrishna Mission, Almora; Kasar Devi Temple and Chitai Golu Devta Temple. Check in, settle down and spend the night at Eco Binsar.

  • Day 3, Eco Binsar – Patal Bhuvaneshwar – Chaukori

    A full day of sightseeing awaits. The day covers Patal Bhuvaneshwar Cave Temple and Himalayan Sunset View. Overnight stay at Chaukori.

  • Day 4, Chaukori – Birthi Waterfall – Kalamuni Top – Munsiyari

    Today the road climbs into the heart of the region. You will see Birthi Waterfall, Kalamuni Temple & Top and magnificent Panchachuli Peak View. The evening is yours. Overnight at Munsiyari.

  • Day 5, Munsiyari Local Sightseeing

    Breakfast first, and then the day belongs to you. Today takes in Nanda Devi Temple, Tribal Heritage Museum, Khaliya Top Trek (optional) and local market and Himalayan views. Dinner and overnight stay at Munsiyari.

  • Day 6, Munsiyari – Bageshwar – Baijnath – Kausani

    An early start today, and well worth it. Lined up for you are Bagnath Temple, Bageshwar; Baijnath Temple; Kausani Tea Garden and Shawl Weaving Factory. Check in, settle down and spend the night at Kausani.

  • Day 7, Kausani – Ranikhet – Kainchi Dham – Nainital

    Today is the one travellers talk about afterwards. You will visit Jhula Devi (Kalika) Temple, Ranikhet Golf Course, Kumaon Regimental Centre (Army Museum) and Neem Karoli Baba (Kainchi Dham). Overnight stay at Nainital.

  • Day 8, Nainital Sightseeing – Lalkuan Drop

    The journey closes today. On the itinerary today are Cave Garden, Lake View Point, Lovers Point, Botanical Garden, Waterfall and Local Shopping (optional). You will be dropped at Lalkuan Railway Station, and the tour concludes with memories that stay with you long after.
