Skip Gangtok entirely and give the time to the west instead. Two nights at Pelling under Kanchenjunga, then one at Ravangla where the Buddha Park statue stands forty metres above the ridge.
Pelling’s round covers the Kanchenjunga and Rimbi waterfalls, an orange garden, Pemayangtse Monastery, the skywalk and Khecheopalri — the wishing lake, where leaves are said never to settle on the water. The return crosses the Temi tea garden, the only one in Sikkim, and the Char Dham complex at Namchi.
