Sela Pass at 13,700 feet, Jaswant Garh and the great monastery at Tawang. This guide sets out what Arunachal & Tawang actually offers, what a trip
there costs, when to go, and how we run it — written from the routes we operate
ourselves rather than from a brochure.

Why Arunachal & Tawang is worth your leave

The road to Tawang is the point of this journey as much as Tawang itself. It climbs from the Kameng at Bhalukpong to the hot springs at Dirang, crosses Sela Pass, passes Jaswant Garh and Nuranang Falls, and arrives at the largest Buddhist monastery in India after Lhasa. Inner Line Permits are arranged by us.

What a trip costs

Common questions before booking

How do I cancel, and what will it cost?

Write to travel@sanjhbatitourism.com or confirm in writing on WhatsApp. Charges depend on how close to departure you cancel and on our suppliers’ own terms, all stated on your confirmation.

What cannot be refunded?

Peak-season and festival hotel bookings, inter-island cruise and ferry tickets, entry permits and any air or rail tickets issued for you. These are non-recoverable once confirmed.

Can I postpone instead of cancelling?

We would much rather reschedule than cancel. Postponement is subject to availability and to any seasonal rate difference. Talk to us first.

Planning your dates

Peak windows — the Pujas, December, and the Kashmir tulip season — fill six to
eight weeks ahead, and offbeat homestays have very few rooms between them. If your
dates are fixed, talk to us early. If they are flexible, tell us and we will
suggest the week that gives you the best weather and the best rate.
