About This Tour

Two hill stations, two nights in each, and no day spent entirely in the car. Coorg brings the coffee estates and the misty valleys; Ooty brings the tea gardens, the lake and the eucalyptus forest. Between them sit Bangalore and Mysore.

Day by day, here is exactly how Southern Jewels unfolds — where you travel, what you see and where you spend each night. 6 nights, 7 days, Bangalore (1N) → Mysore (1N) → Coorg (2N) → Ooty (2N).

Day 1, Bangalore
The Garden City of India and the capital of Karnataka is one of the prettiest and cleanest cities in the country, well known for its rapidly growing software industry. Visit Cubbon Park and the Government Museum, Tipu Sultan's Palace, the Fort, the Bull Temple and the Venkatappa Art Gallery as time permits. Overnight at the hotel. Please note that the distances mentioned are measured from the city centre.
Day 2, Mysore
Mysore, the royal city of Karnataka, has a great number of royal buildings, gardens, temples, museums and modern amusement parks. Visit the Chamarajendra Art Gallery, Mysore Zoo, the Maharaja's Palace and Brindavan Gardens. Overnight at the hotel. Please note that Mysore Zoo remains closed on Tuesdays.
Day 3, Coorg
Coorg, the Scotland of India, is a hill station of coffee estates, spice plantations and misty valleys. Visit Abbey Falls, Raja's Seat, the Namdroling Monastery at Bylakuppe and the Dubare elephant camp as time permits. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4, Coorg sightseeing
A second day among the coffee estates, waterfalls and monasteries of Coorg. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 5, Ooty
Ooty is a picturesque landscape of deep forest, green meadows, vast tea gardens and tall eucalyptus trees. Visit the Botanical Garden, the tea estates and factories, and enjoy boating on Ooty Lake. Hiking and horse riding are also available here. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 6, Ooty sightseeing
A further day in the Nilgiris at an unhurried pace. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 7, Departure from Coimbatore
After breakfast, transfer to Coimbatore airport for your onward journey.
